Sharing and Reviewing Content in Lectora

Since creating an eLearning course is a team effort, I thought I would share some of the features in Lectora Inspire that help people share in the content creation and review process. More details about the powerful capabilities of Lectora can be found in the features page.NotesOne of the handiest items for making comments and reviewing content is the notes feature. It lets you add a comment right on the screen. A note icon appears in the corner and you simply double-click it to open and read the notes in the edit mode. You can track the name of the author who created the note and the time it was created and print a report of all the notes in your title as a helpful quick reference. The notes are available in a variety of colors, including bright red for urgent messages. Use the tools menu to add a note or run a notes report.

You can easily add notes to courses in Lectora.

It’s easy to save all or part or your course as objects to share in the media library.

Media Library The media library in Lectora helps you save time and stay organized by offering a central location for all your media files. You can add keywords and metadata to objects to make them easy to search and find. Enhance collaboration by making your media library accessible to multiple users. A library folder is provided where you save these objects and easily share them with others. The default location of the library folder is C: Program FilesTrivantisLectoraLibrary. This location can be changed and kept on a shared network drive. A library object can be a single object or a set of objects. It can also be an entire chapter, section or page. Library objects are saved with a .awo extension and can contain as few or as many Lectora objects as you want. This makes collaborating on courses fast and simple and eliminates the need to email, FTP, or store files on a network.Other Options for Sharing in LectoraThere are other features in Lectora that your team will find useful as you work.

Quickly export text from a Lectora file by using the Export command.

  • Export to Microsoft Word – Text content of courses can be easily exported to Microsoft Word text format for sharing and repurposing. Simply use the Export command under the File menu and choose Word to create a .doc file.

You’ll see your saved template as an option on the Launch Pad when you start Lectora.

  • Save Title as Template – Once you have created a template for your course, you can save it as a template for re-use by everyone in your organization. Under the File menu, choose Save Title as a Template. The next time you open Lectora, you will see your template in the My Templates area of the Launch Pad. Using custom designed course templates will save your team time and keep design consistent across training courses.

Lectora offers a broad array of printing options.

  • Contextual Printing – The print window in Lectora allows you to print specific content within desired chapters, sections, or pages for easy review and sharing.
