LUC 2017 Mission Report

Are you joining us for Mission: Possible next year in Cincinnati, Ohio, May 3-4? It's going to be another great Lectora® User Conference, full of networking opportunities, new eLearning development insights, and amazing speakers. The LUC is the place to hear the latest news about our products and get a sneak peek or two of new features we're working on. Plus, Cincinnati has amazing restaurants, fantastic museums and performance venues, and a lively nightlife. The hotel location we’ve chosen, the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati, is walking distance from Fountain Square, a central downtown hub of activities that range from free salsa dancing lessons on Thursday nights to Tuesday afternoon farmer’s markets and sports watching parties. Pack your dancing shoes for salsa!Speaking of dancing, a popular downtown Cincinnati activity is watching the Cincinnati Ballet perform at the Aronoff Center.

Several arts organizations call the Aronoff Center home:

  • Cincinnati Ballet
  • Cincinnati Music Theatre
  • Cincinnati Playwrights Initiative
  • Contemporary Dance Theater
  • de la Dance Company
  • Exhale Dance Tribe
  • MamLuft & Co. Dance

But the Center is perhaps best known for the touring Broadway shows that enchant audiences nationwide. If you’re interested in taking in a show while you’re in Cincinnati for the LUC 2017, Beautiful: The Carol King Musical will be running at the Aronoff. The Aronoff Center is centrally located to great restaurants, including local favorite Nada (the Trivantis Marketing team recommends the salmon tacos and the Nada fries), Indianapolis-based Bru Burger Bar, and nationally-known Rock Bottom Brewery.Other places to stop by downtown—when you’re not busy learning cool new eLearning tricks, of course—include the Contemporary Arts Center, Smale Riverfront Park, a Cincinnati Reds game, and more.

Tourist alert! You HAVE to take a selfie with this freestanding art piece while you’re here. You’ll find it down by Smale Park. The phrase “Sing the Queen City” is taken from the poem Seven Hills and a Queen to Name Them—a poem all about Cincinnati. You can read the whole poem here.We have so much more to share about the LUC 2017 in Cincinnati with you all, including speaker announcements, pre-conference training information, favorite food trucks, and some uniquely Cincinnati traditions. However, you’ll have to wait until our next LUC 2017 Mission Report.Until then, keep on making magic with Lectora! You can also register for the LUC 2017 and reserve your hotel room now.
