Snagit quick tip: When you take a screen shot in Snagit, you can save your image in different formats. Amit Agarwal, columnist and founder of Digital Inspiration, offers these ways to decide the extension for your screenshot graphics in his Snagit tips and tricks blog:

1. .GIF – use this extension when you have a lot of text or if you take a screen shot from a movie or video like YouTube, for example

2. .PNG (True Color) – this extension should be used when the image is a photograph or you do not file have size limitations

3. .JPG (Automatic Color) – use .JPG extension for all other cases
