The 2010 Lectora User Conference was kicked off successfully with the Keynote Presentation by Lisa Kovac and Shelia Van Wicklen from Dow Chemical. Their presentation, Dow Chemical’s Learning Journey: Using Lectora to Innovate & Transform Learning Delivery, was very creative with the use of Woodstock video footage to help emphasize their point of how using Lectora has helped within their organization. Dow currently has 27,000 active courses and wanted to share the reasons they decided on Lectora along with success stories they have had in different departments throughout their organization. A few examples they shared were Customer Service, Manufacturing, EHS and ISO Certification. Lectora has helped them in converting all their existing content into a SCORM format to be implemented into their LMS. They have created a Lectora Community of Practice group within Dow to meet on a biweekly basis to share ideas, discuss best practices and devise a standardized template to be used. They offered many good suggestions, such as this, that other organizations could adapt to help in setting up a standardized e-Learning environment. For live updates from the Lectora User Conference, click here.
